1000年以上前から作られてきたと伝えられています。別名「カゲロウの羽」とも呼ばれる、世界でいちばん薄い和紙です。その種類の豊富さと品質の良さから、書道用紙はもとより絵画・版画などの美術用紙、美術品や文化財の修復用紙としても高い評価を得ており、世界中で使用されています。
Tosa Washi has been in production for more than 1,000 years. Also known as "mayfly feathers", it is the thinnest Japanese paper in the world. Due to the wide variety and high quality of the paper, it is highly regarded not only as calligraphy paper, but also as an art paper for paintings and prints, as well as a restoration paper for works of art and cultural properties, and is used all over the world
