1300年以上の歴史と伝統を誇る美濃和紙。柔らかみのある繊細な風合いをもちながら、強靭で耐久性があり、薄くてムラがないという特徴を備えています。 これは、紙を漉く際に、通常の「縦揺り」に、ゆったりとした「横揺り」を加えて繊維を絡み合わせるという、美濃和紙の産地特有の技法によって生み出されるものです。
Mino washi boasts a history and tradition of more than 1,300 years. While it has a soft and delicate texture, it is strong and durable, thin and uneven. This is created by a technique unique to the production area of Mino washi paper, in which the fibers are intertwined by adding a gentle "horizontal rock" to the usual "vertical shaking" when making paper.
