⚫︎ 遠野和紙 / Toono Washi
江戸時代から続く遠野和紙という伝統工芸。遠野町で生産される良質な楮を原料を用いて寒漉き(冬季間のみに漉く)にて製造する遠野和紙は、手漉きならではの味わいがある上質な和紙です。平成22年度に廃業した後は、遠野町の住民の中には和紙を漉く方がいなくなりました。
The traditional craft of Tono washi has been around since the Edo period. It is made by cold straining (strained only during the winter season) using high-quality mulberry grown in Tono Town, and is a high-quality Japanese paper with a taste unique to handmade paper. After going out of business in Heisei 22, there were no more residents of Tono Town who made Tono Washi.
