Ujou Tsumugi

岡山の象徴ともいえる岡山城は、漆黒の佇まいから烏城とも呼ばれる名城。その名を冠した烏城紬は、２００年前寛政１０年ごろ、岡山児島半島の灘崎村迫川、宗津地方中心に起こった袴（はかま）地織りがそのはじまりです。普通の紬よりもたて糸が少なく、よこ糸を撚っていないため、布がしなやかで、着心地が良く大変暖かい着物に仕上がります。縞模様を基本とした個性的な柄が特徴です。他の紬の産地のように、工程を家から家への分業とせず、糸紡ぎから精練・染め・整経・機ごしらえ・織りまでの全工程を一貫して行っています。
