日本の陶芸において、転がし型（ころがしがた）と打ち板（うちいた）は、粘土に模様を刻む道具です。ローラーは表面を転がすことで繰り返し模様を描き、ヘラは圧縮と加飾を同時に行います。益子焼、信楽焼、丹波焼といった日本の伝統的な陶芸において広く用いられています。これらの道具の使用は、道具の痕跡、自然のモチーフ、そして触感を大切にする日本の美意識を現わしており、陶芸における機能的な強度と芸術的な表現の両方において中心的な役割を果たしています。

In Japanese pottery, texture rollers (転がし型, korogashi-gata) and paddles (へら, hera / 打ち板, uchi-ita) are tools for imprinting designs into clay. Widely seen in Japanese mingei (folk pottery) traditions like Mashiko, Shigaraki, and Tamba.
