Hosshoujiyaki kaike Gama

Amended translation: Hosshoji ware has been passed down since the Edo period. It began in 1961 when the second generation Hosshoji potter built a climbing kiln in Kaike as a side kiln to Shoka Kiln. The kiln explores different ceramic techniques within their production, such as mixing sand from Kaike and iron sand from the mouth of the Hino River into the clay and glaze.
