Amended translation: Imadan Yaki, a pottery practice from Oi, Kanagawa, was established when a number of ancient kilns active during the sixth century were revived. Made using high-quality locally sourced red clay, many of the pieces are rich in character, and holding them in your hands will give you a sense of simplicity and gentleness. This is an unusual type of pottery that is not concerned with the presence or absence of glaze or the characteristics of the clay. Imadan Yaki has been recognised as a local craft of Fukui prefecture.
