Kazuwayaki Kazuwazan Gama

Amended translation: Kamigami ware was first produced in the Horeki era (around 1750), and continued under the names Hakuozan and Hakushuozan. However, in the Meiji era, it was produced under the names Kamedama, Hakumen, and Gyokuhaku. As the practice’s popularity waned and production began to cease, Fujiichi I, who had studied under Hirano Doun, hoped to revive it by opening the Kamigamiyama kiln. His style was highly acclaimed for its long tradition and vibrantly colored cinnabar Kamigami ware. Fujiichi II (Tamiya) studied under his father Fujiichi I, and this style has been passed down to Yoshiko III. In addition to the use of cinnabar, he is skilled in new fields such as oil-drop tenmoku and gold-painted kiln changes.
