歴史は古く、今から1300年前、阿波忌部氏（あわいんべし）により始まったといわれています。手漉き（てすき）ならではの肌触りと、生成（きなり）の風合いが特徴です。そして、薄くても水に強くて破れにくく，その独特の美しさに多くの人に愛用されています。
Awa Washi is said to have started 1,300 years ago by Mr. Awainbe. It is characterized by the unique handmade texture and the texture of its generation. Even though it is thin, it is resistant to water and does not tear, and is loved by many people for its unique beauty.
