美作地方で古くから生産されてきたミツマタを原料とする高級和紙。薄くてかさばらず、表面がなめらかなことから、金箔や銀箔を挟む「箔合紙」として、京都や金沢の金箔工芸には欠かせない存在となっています。全国でもここでしか作られていません。
Tsuyama Hakuai Shi is a high-grade Japanese paper made from Mitsumata, which has been produced in the Mimasaka region for a long time. Because it is thin, not bulky, and has a smooth surface, it has become an indispensable part of gold leaf crafts in Kyoto and Kanazawa as a "foil composite paper" that sandwiches gold leaf and silver leaf. It is made only here in the whole country.
