The Kokuzou kiln, located as the base of Mount Kokuzou in Ishikawa prefecture, is a significant producer of Kutani ware. The Kokuzou kiln operate an integrated production system with all aspects of production (from creating the clay base, through all stages of decorating and firing) operating within the kiln. Kutani ware is a form of porcelain that can be characterised by the use of vivid colours and detailed landscape scenes.
