天然の木を手作業で挽いた伝統工芸品です。 その特徴は、繊細かつ重厚な肌触りと、横木で加工することにより表れる自然の杢目（もくめ）の美しさにあり、同じ製品は二つとありません。１６世紀末から始まった言われています。
SHOGAWA Hikimono Kiji is a traditional craft made by hand-sawing natural wood. Its characteristics lie in its delicate and profound texture and the beauty of the natural grain that appears when processed with cross beams, and no two products are the same. It is said to have originated at the end of the 16th century.
