⚫︎ 近江雁皮紙 / Oumi Ganbishi
平安時代の貴族文化に彩りを添えた「薄様」の王朝染雁皮紙。江戸時代後期に越前から雁皮紙の製紙法が伝わったといわれています。雁皮紙はジンチョウゲ科に属する灌木を材料に用いてつくられ滑らかな紙肌で光沢があり、透明度も高いものです。永年保存に耐えられる丈夫な紙であるため、写経用紙によく使われています。
Oumi Ganbishi is a thin dynasty-dyed goose parchment that added color to the aristocratic culture of the Heian period. It is said that the papermaking method of parchment paper was introduced from Echizen in the late Edo period. Goose parchment is made from shrubs belonging to the Daphniaceae family, and has a smooth paper skin, glossy, and high transparency. Because it is a durable paper that can withstand long-term storage, it is often used for sutra paper.
