若柳地織 Wakayanagiji brocade

Wakayanagi Jiori is a cotton fabric that was actively manufactured from the Meiji era to the Taisho era, mainly in Wakayanagi Town, Kurihara City in Miyagi Prefecture. The “Toyoda narrow power iron loom (Y-type)” invented by Toyota founder Sakichi Toyoda in 1915 is still in use for its weaving. It is characterized by its unique color and stripe patterns, and its unique texture that is excellent in breathability.

若柳地織(わかやなぎじおり)は明治から大正にかけて宮城県栗原市若柳町を中心として盛んに製造された綿織物です。

1915年にトヨタの創設者、豊田佐吉翁が発明した「豊田式鉄製小幅動力織機(Y式)」を現在も使用しています。色合いや縞の出し方に特色があり、独特の肌触りと風合いは通気性に優れ、肌触りがやさしいことが特徴です。
